Mystic Realm

Characters

Zaitsev Moscavic:

A tough-as-nails warrior who’s made his home in a scrapyard within the Mystic Realm. He fights monsters called the Chagrin and has a mysterious past on Earth. If day drinking with a side of violence was a job, Zaitsev would be employee of the month.

Sam Sunderson:

An AWOL soldier wandering Earth’s remains with a group of survivors. He’s got the leadership blues and a Chagrin problem that makes every day left feel like a bad Monday.

The Emperor:

A cryptic character wrapped in layers of rags, hiding who-knows-what underneath. He roams the Mystic Realm followed by a caravan of curiosities, always up to something mysterious. Good luck figuring out what’s going on behind those rags—he’s got more up his sleeve than a magician...more arms I mean.

I’eel:

A young (for a tree) Khobesk who’s all about peace, schedules and hanging out with Zaitsev. Think of him as the Mystic Realm’s version of a hippie with good time management.

Snow:

I’eel’s rebellious counterpart, who’s taken a liking to Chagrin flesh. He’s the black sheep—or maybe black tree.. White tree?—of the Khobesk family; he likes causing trouble and is plagued by the Gila’s disease.

The Ferryman:

A portal-hopping skinwalker who’s constantly on the move. Travels around the Mystic Realm on his Wanderfin who he takes care of. Probably never had to pay for a plane ticket in his life.

Derick:

A master manipulator with a knack for stirring the pot. He’s got Kevin under his thumb and loves fucking with other people's points of view. Basically, he’s the guy who ruins everyone else's day.

Kohen:

Zaitsev’s neon wearing, eager apprentice who’s always in trouble. If there’s a rule to break or someone to kiss, Kohen’s already on it.

Arthur/Preach:

Rescued by Zaitsev and I’eel, he’s a devoted follower of The Emperor. Spends most of his time preaching—because who doesn’t love a good sermon?

Kevin:

Poor Kevin. Manipulated by Derick and suffering from psychic torment. Seriously, someone get this guy a break.

Summers:

A tough Swiss soldier in Sam’s crew who took on the Chagrin and got a few scars to prove it. Definitely not afraid to jump into the fray.

Ramirez:

The disciplined officer who’s all about standards and survival. He’s the kind of guy who’d still iron his shirt during an apocalypse.

Nick:

The laid-back owner of The Middle of Nowhere bar. He’s the friendly bartender who knows everyone’s business and pours a mean drink. Just don’t get on his bad side, or you might find yourself cut off from the best booze in the Mystic Realm.

Amia:

Nick’s wife, the real boss of The Middle of Nowhere. Former MMa champ with a no-nonsense attitude, she keeps the bar—and Nick—in line. Amia’s the glue holding everything together, all while managing the twins and serving up wisdom with a side of sass.

The twins:

Rine and Twine: Nick and Amia’s energetic kids, always up to some kind of mischief around the bar. They’re little whirlwinds of chaos, darting between tables and keeping everyone on their toes. If something’s broken or someone’s laughing, the twins are probably involved.

Celty:

The new Khobesk leader who’s all about peace and unity. Basically, she’s trying to get everyone to play nice.

Mu:

A plague-masked knight who rides with Derick. Because why not add a bit of medieval flair to the Mystic mix?

Spider:

Another of Zaitsev’s apprentices. Quick, agile, and always there to keep the chaos to a minimum. Or at least, he tries.

43-Dre:

A robot whose main job is to keep Sam and his crew safe in the Mystic Realm. Think of him as a high-tech babysitter.

Brathek:

A Khobesk follower of The Emperor with electric blue eyes and a perpetually sunny outlook. Always looking on the bright side.

McCready and the Jingleberry Boys

Robots dressed like cowboys who love causing chaos. If there’s trouble, they’re probably behind it—and having a blast.

Danz:

A hot-headed member of Sam’s group who rocks a 10-gallon hat and a serious attitude problem. Rules? Never heard of them.

Jackson and Lunceford:

More of Sam’s crew, doing their best to fend off Chagrin and stay alive. Just two more names on the survival roster

Nine:

Derick’s muscle-bound enforcer. If you need someone strong and silent (emphasis on strong), Nine’s your guy.

Races

Khobesk:

Tree-like beings who speak directly into your mind. Once warlike, now they’re all about peace and meditation. Think Druid meets telepath.

Mishlings:

Goblin-like troublemakers who live in caves and love tinkering with metal. They’re handy with scraps and always up to no good.

Scaledra:

Lizard-like folks who are skittish and always on edge, thanks to their rocky relationship with the Khobesk. Paranoia? They’ve got plenty

Tratohlyph:

Bird-like creatures who write things down on stone tablets with blue ink. What are they recording? No one really knows.

Chagrin:

Horrific monsters that are like a bad acid trip personified. Reality warps around them, and they’ve got zero sense of self. They’re basically walking nightmares.

Wanderfin:

Like iant, mean and flying koi fish that are a rare delicacy in the Mystic Realm. Sushi, anyone?

Skinwalker:

Shape-shifters who can wear others like a change of clothes. The Ferryman’s one of these, so expect surprises.

Concepts

Mystic Realm:

An ancient dimension made up of broken planets and lost civilizations, pulled together through black holes. It’s like a cosmic junkyard, but with more magicy stuff.

G.U.I.S.T:

Earth’s top-secret organization dealing with Mystic threats. They probably have more secrets than the CIA.

Stonefall:

A city carved into the side of a crater, filled with beauty and protected by magical glyphs. It’s the Mystic Realm’s luxury retreat away from Chagrin.

Glyphs:

Magical symbols with all kinds of uses, from protection to creating barriers to doing who-knows-what else. Think of them as the Swiss Army knife of the Mystic Realm: versatile, powerful, and always ready to keep things in order!

Unity Festival:

A big party thrown by the Khobesk and friends when the twin suns align. Think of it as a magical Woodstock.

Garden:

A sacred spot for the Khobesk where seeds are brought back to life. The ultimate nursery for tree spirits.

Project November:

A G.U.I.S.T project that blurs the line between science and magic. They’re poking at unknown energies like kids with a beehive.

Khobesk Seeds:

The core essence of a Khobesk, tough as nails and practically indestructible. Talk about a hard shell!

Envoys:

People who can tap into the Mystic Realm to manipulate reality. Need the world bent to your will? Call an Envoy!

Wildwoods:

The Mystical center of the Khobesk world, pulsing with ancient energy and deep-rooted wisdom. It’s the Khobesk’s spiritual hotspot, where nature vibes high and secrets grow like weeds. If you’re looking for enlightenment— or just a really cool tree—this is the place to be.

The Republic:

Mostly, a ragtag group of backwoods folks who miss the good old days of Earth and want things to stay just like they were. They’re all about preserving the past and keeping things separate from the Mystic Realm's weirdness. Think of them as nostalgic rebels with a cause!

The Middle Of Nowhere:

A cozy bar run by Nick, where everyone who’s anyone—and plenty of nobodies—end up at some point. It’s the ultimate pit stop in the Mystic Realm for a drink, a story, or just to lose yourself for a while...Its one of the only places in the Mystic realm for that actually.
